Pulwama Attack

The attack in Pulwama took place on 14 February 2019, when the defense teams Indian security personnel vehicles going from Jammu and Kashmir National Highway were attacked, which was done by a self-generated suicide bomber in Lethapora in the modern state of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. 40 Indian CRPF (CENTRAL RESERVE POLICE FORCE) personnel were also killed in the attack along with criminal Adil Ahmed Dar, a native Kashmiri youth of Pulwama district. The attack was taken down by Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorist organization. India held the perpetrator of the attack to its neighboring country Pakistan, while Pakistan denied this fact and said that there should be no relationship with the terrorists. This attack dealt a deep blow to the relations between India and Pakistan, as a result of which there were differences between India and Pakistan forces in 2019.

ATTACK

On 14 February 2019, more than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were taken from Jammu to Srinagar, the defense team of 78 vehicles was going from National Highway 44. The defense team came out of Jammu at about 3:30 pm IST and was going to Bhopal in large numbers, due to the closure of the highway two days ago, the defense team of the soldiers had to reach their place before sunset.

In Lethapora near Awantipora, around 3:15 pm IST, a bus carrying the security personnel was detonated by a car. The car exploded and 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel from 76 Battalions were killed and several were injured. The injured were taken to the hospital by army bus from Srinagar.

The attack was claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammed, the terrorist organization of Pakistan. He shared a video of militant Adil Ahmed Dar, a 22-year-old boy from Kakapora, who had joined the organization a year earlier. Pakistan denied its involvement in this attack, but Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar contributed to running the country.

This attack was the most dangerous attack on Indian forces in Kashmir since 1989.

INVESTIGATION

The National Investigation Agency sent a 12-member team to the Jammu and Kashmir Police to investigate the attack.

The first investigation revealed that the car could explode more than 300 kg, which contained 80 kg of RDX (ROYAL DEMOLITION EXPLOSIVE) and more explosive ammonium nitrate. Lieutenant General Hooda said that perhaps the blast material was stolen from somewhere. He had already said that he has been brought across the border with smuggling, but he cannot rule it out.

The National Investigation Agency took the identity and confirmation of the blaster as the material used in the attack was found near the father of Adil Ahmed Dar. But even after a year's effort, the National Investigation Agency could not trace the attackers.

REACTION OF INDIA AND PAKISTAN

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi despised the attack and showed solidarity with the victims and their families. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that Pakistani terrorists will get a strong answer to this attack. Indian News Reporters reported that the Jaish-e-Mohammed invasion of India was in partnership with Pakistan, but it also comes to light that the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization had earlier attacked the Pakistani bases as well. Security leaders acknowledge that the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization has created Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence. In 2002, Pakistan banned this faction, but that group came back with different names and it is supported by the ISI. The New York Times questioned Pakistan on this act, saying that the bombardment that took place in Kashmir ruled India, and the bombs were also bought from somewhere.

Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that India will ruin Pakistan with its diplomacy.

Pakistan has denied the charge of the attack on India and Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has condemned the attack. Pakistan's Joint Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that Pakistan started taking action against the Jaish-e-Mohammed organization and will help India in taking action against the terrorists of Pakistan. The Pakistani newspaper The Nation called the terrorists freedom fighters who put an end to the occupying force. Pakistan and India recalled their ambassadors for advice in a move to tease each other.

On 19 February 2019, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it is not in our power to keep Pakistan's terrorists safe. He asked for proof of his involvement in this attack from India and warned India that any military response would be met with damages. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs despised the attack and commented on it, expressing no feelings for the victims. It said that there was complete evidence of the claim of Adil Ahmed Dar and the Pakistani organization Jaish-e-Mohammed but due to lack of investigation in the Mumbai and Pathankot attacks the promises of the investigation were absolute. In response to India, the newspaper Dawn said that the Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi showed sympathy with the victims after the conversation.

Indian filmmakers decided not to release any Indian film in Pakistan due to Pakistan's act of attacking India.
