MS Dhoni
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian international cricketer who has recently retired from international cricket and captained the Indian team in limited-overs and test cricket from 2007-2016 and 2008-2014. MS Dhoni is the only player who has won all trophies of ICC (INTERNATIONAL CRICKET COUNCIL).
INTRODUCTION
MS Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, in a Hindu Rajput family of Ranchi, Jharkhand to Pan Singh and Devki Devi. His family's village is a Langara block of Almora, Uttarakhand, His father moved to Ranchi from Uttarakhand and started working as a junior management post in MECON. Dhoni has a sister and a brother named Jayanti Gupta and Narendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni did his study from Dev Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Ranchi, Jharkhand and showed his performance in sports like badminton, football, and cricket. He used to play as a goalkeeper in his football team and also played cricket for the local club. Dhoni showed his wicket-keeping skills at the Commando Cricket Club during 1995-98 and in the 1997-98 season, Vinoo Mankad Trophy was selected for the Under-16 Championship and also showed his high performance. After completing his high school study, Dhoni turned his attention to cricket.
Till 2001-2003, Dhoni was a traveling ticket administrator at Kharagpur Railway Station of South-East Railway in West Bengal.
DHONI'S CAREER
In the year 1998, MS Dhoni was selected for the CCL (CENTRAL COALFIELD LIMITED) team and also played for the school cricket team and club cricket. Whenever Dhoni hit a six in the matches of the Sheesh Mahal Tournament, Deval Saday gifted him 50 rupees, who selected him in CCL. Seeing Dhoni's good performance at CCL, he was sent to the A division Deval Saday, impressed by his good performance, motivated the selection of the Bihar team. In the 1990-2000 season, he was selected for the Senior Ranji team of Bihar at the age of 18. He was not selected for the East Zone team and the Rest of the India team.
Dhoni was named vice-captain of the ODI (ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL) team against South Africa and England. In June 2007, Dhoni received an A Grade contract from the BCCI (BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA). In September 2007, Dhoni was selected as the captain of the Indian team for the World T20 matches. In the same year, Dhoni showed his record with Idol Adam Gilchrist, in which he took the record of taking the most wickets in an ODI.

In 2011, Dhoni defeated Australia in the quarter-finals and Pakistan in the semi-finals to reach India in the finals. In the final against Sri Lanka, Dhoni scored a historic victory for India by completing 275 runs with Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh.
In 2013, India won the ICC Championship Trophy and Dhoni became the only captain in the history of cricket by winning the ICC Trophy. In the same year, Dhoni became the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score more than 1000 runs against Australia.
In the 2015 World Cup, Dhoni became the first captain to play such matches and win all group stage matches. Despite performing well in the same year's world cup, India lost to Australia. In January 2017, Dhoni stepped in as the captain of the Indian team in limited-overs. He did well against England in the ODI series and was named as the wicket-keeper of the 'Team of the Tournament' in the Champion's trophy in the same year.

MS Dhoni may be a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. He is known for his lower-order aggressive mode which later changed due to the responsibility of captaincy. He is the fastest-scored player among the wickets. His helicopter shot is liked by everyone and his childhood friend Santosh Lal taught this shot.
Apart from batting, he is also appreciated for wicket keeping. If you talk about stumping then he is the fastest wicket-keeper. There is a record of stumping faster than the second wicket-keeper. He is sometimes known to be a medium pacer for the Indian team.

- Dhoni also holds the record for most stumping as a wicket-keeper in ODI.

In 2011, the Indian Territorial Army was awarded the honorary rank of Colonel by the Indian Territorial Army for its outstanding contribution to cricket. In August 2019, he served two weeks with the army in Jammu and Kashmir.
